As part of our service offering, CLS Industrial Purification implements a Chloride Management Program, conducts onsite training and Cl surveys, and tests for organic chlorides.
Chloride Management Program
Because properly monitoring a Cl bed is crucial for maintaining an effective Cl treater, every system we install includes the online monitoring. Once a system is installed, we teach and implement our Chloride Management Program (CMP). Our CMP is far more than simply pulling a Draeger tube once a week; it's a culture shift within a refinery. Refineries utilize capital investments in Cl treaters to protect their downstream equipment, keep product in spec, and mitigate any pipe corrosion to protect everyone inside the unit.
Onsite Training
Once we have agreed to install our Var-Zeo system, CLS Industrial Purification will conduct onsite training in proper monitoring procedures for operations personnel. This training includes the correct way to purge lines, test process gases, read tubes, and record results. The concept is simple. We focus on its implementation and utilization.
Onsite Cl Survey
At least 4 times a year, CLS Industrial Purification will perform an onsite Cl survey. These surveys allow us to test current process values and the performance of the beds, confer with and retrain any operations staff as needed, compare results with those of operations, and look for signs of contamination (i.e. PNAs).
Maintaining an effective Cl treater is vital to achieving all operational goals. If a treater is neglected and left to fend for itself, desired results will not be achieved.
Organic Chlorides Testing
During our onsite surveys, we have the ability to test for organic chlorides. CLS Industrial Purification has developed a proprietary system which allows us to test the process gases in situ, achieving the most accurate test results possible. The ability to test a stream as it is in the process is the goal of every test. Removing a sample from the process in order test it in a lab defeats the entire purpose of the test. Cl molecules tend to lose their reactivity when removed from the process, thus making it much more difficult to achieve accurate results.
